Reporting a problem

Please include:

• the OpenFlow version (in OpenFlow › About OpenFlow) and your macOS version;
• the channel's inputs, or a screenshot of them;
• what you expected and what OpenFlow showed instead.

Common questions

Where are my channels kept?

On your Mac, in OpenFlow's own storage. They are not uploaded anywhere. Removing the app removes them too.

Why does a solve fail?

OpenFlow needs every input except the unknown, each greater than zero. Some values have no answer, for example a water depth above the top of a circular pipe, or a discharge too large for the section. OpenFlow then shows a message saying what is wrong.

Is there a subscription?

No. OpenFlow is a one-time purchase from the Mac App Store with no in-app purchases. To install it on another Mac, sign in to the App Store there with the same Apple Account and download it again at no charge.

Which Macs does it run on?

Any Mac with macOS 14 Sonoma or later.

How accurate are the results?

OpenFlow uses Manning's equation for steady uniform flow. Results depend on the roughness coefficient you choose and are meant for study and preliminary design. Check designs against your own standards before you build.
