Privacy notice
This notice describes how we process personal data when you visit the marketing site at syncster.dev (this “Site”). It is written to support transparency and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) and related UK GDPR where applicable.
1. Who is responsible?
The controller for personal data relating to this Site is Syncster, which operates syncster.dev.
For any questions about this privacy notice or to exercise your data protection rights, contact us at support@syncster.dev.
2. Scope
This notice applies to this static Site only. Our application FlowStudio (flow.syncster.dev) is a separate service and has its own sign-in, backend processing, and privacy documentation. When you leave this Site for FlowStudio, that service’s terms and privacy information apply.
Our blog at blog.syncster.dev is also separate from this Site; its own privacy information applies when you visit it.
3. What data we process and why
3.1 Delivery of the Site (hosting)
When you request pages or font files from our server, the hosting infrastructure typically processes technical data such as IP address, date and time of the request, HTTP method, URL, status code, user agent, and referrer. This is needed to deliver the Site, ensure security (e.g. abuse prevention), and diagnose technical issues.
Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6): our legitimate interests in operating a secure, available website (Art. 6(1)(f)), where those interests are not overridden by your rights; where local law requires, we may also rely on Art. 6(1)(b) for steps prior to a contract if you later use paid services from us.
3.2 Fonts on this Site
Typefaces are self-hosted from the same origin as this Site. We do not load fonts from third-party providers on these pages, so your browser does not contact an external font CDN for typography here. Those font files are distributed under the SIL Open Font License.
3.3 Cookies and similar technologies
This Site does not use analytics or advertising tags. The script we load
(main.js) only inserts the current year in the footer and does not set
cookies or use local storage. If we introduce cookies, analytics, or similar
technologies that require consent under applicable law, we will update this notice and
obtain consent where required before using them.
4. Recipients and processors
We use infrastructure providers (such as hosting and DNS) who process personal data on our instructions as processors, under agreements that require them to protect the data and use it only to provide their services to us. Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we use appropriate safeguards recognised under applicable law, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions, where required.
5. Retention
Server and security logs are kept only as long as needed for the purposes above and in line with our hosting provider’s configuration—typically a limited rolling period unless longer retention is required to establish or defend legal claims.
6. Your rights
Depending on your situation, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Rectification (Art. 16)
- Erasure (“right to be forgotten”) in certain cases (Art. 17)
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18)
- Data portability, where applicable (Art. 20)
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21)
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent (Art. 7(3))
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77)
To exercise these rights, email us at support@syncster.dev. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country of residence, your place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement.
7. Children
This Site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through these pages.
8. Automated decisions
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling on you based on data from this Site.
9. Changes
We may update this notice when our practices or legal obligations change. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised accordingly.
10. Other legal disclosures
Depending on where we offer services, additional information may be required by local law (for example an Impressum for certain offerings in Germany). Any such disclosures will be published on this site separately from this privacy notice where they apply.
